Your Spanish publishing subordinate

Dear Riverbend, nice to write you again.

I write to you in order to explain something that has just hapenned in the Publishing house. Let me tell you; time ago, I looked for people in Spain who could write something in the beginning of the book (just how Susan Sarandon did in the American version of B.B. )

I got in touch with an important female Spanish journalist, Margarita Rivière; one female writer who has writen about Iran, Afghanistan, and is a lover of Middle East and its people -Ana Briongos-; and Iñigo Sáenz de Ugarte, a war journalist who writes a blog. After having read the book, all of them were delighted to write some kind words about you and your work.

Well, so today I've been talking with Ana Briongos. She teaches Spanish to Arabian anb Maghribian women who live and work in Spain. Do you know how does she teach Spanish to them? Well, reading together the Spanish translation of Baghdad Burning, Bagdad en llamas. I thought you would like to hear that.

On the other hand, your blogger-translator of Bagdad en llamas is preparing a presentation of the book in his city, and I'm preparing a launchingh in Barcelona. We are lucky, because the people of L'ecuació iraquiana are helping us to present the book in Fundació Tàpies, a very important contemporany museum of Barcelona. We are launching it in the 15th of June.
By the way, you must know that El País, one of the most important newspaper in Spain, published last sunday a two pages long fragment of the translation of your Bagdad en llamas. Here you can see it.

Well, I hope this news will make you stronger and proud. Take care and receive my very best wishes from Barcelona.

As usuall, forgive my poor English.

Subal Quinina.
